YCLSA-Mpumalanga Provincial Declaration
2 March 2010
The Declaration
We delegates of the Provincial Executive Committee Lekgotla from the PEC and Districts of our Province of the Young Communist League of South Africa met on the 27th to 28th February 2010 as we concluded our Lekgotla. We discussed various pertinent organizational matters and issues that affect young people in the province and the country in general and resolved. Our resolutions in this Lekgotla remain our 2010 programme of action.
We therefore declare that, we acknowledge that unemployment remains the challenge for youth and therefore call for the Mpumalanga Government to provide more support for youth co-operatives to operate in an endeavor to create jobs. Advocating for the training of 20 000 artisans in the next four years will be mounted to Mpumalanga Government. We re-commit ourselves on the programme of creating Youth Co-operatives in all Districts of the Province. We demand that the Government of Mpumalanga and the National Youth Development Agency swiftly establish the Provincial structure in Mpumalanga by June 2010 to deliver on youth development.
The YCLSA in Mpumalanga calls for the strengthening of the programme on the international solidarity with the people of Swaziland by mounting programmes like picketing on the boarder gates. We will work with SWAYOCO to intensify the struggle for the emancipation of the people of Swaziland. We will forge relations with the youth of FRELIMO in Mozambique by paying a visit in the month of October. We also call for the intensification of our programmes on the circumcision of young boys and free access of the sanitary towels to all young women.
We have set ourselves a recruiting target of 12000 members, by the end of August 2010 through intensifying our Operation Khula in branches throughout the province.
We condemn the disease of crass materialism and bling which manifests itself through tender-preneurship and we believe that there are such tendencies in our province of Mpumalanga. We condemn the reactionary behavior of some of our own comrades in the name of dual membership and call for discipline amongst all cadres of the movement
Amandla!
