The Young Communist League of South Africa invites all to a media briefing to be held on the 27 February 2005 to announce decisions taken from its scheduled National Committee meeting held over the weekend.

The meeting discussed and took decisions on the following issues:

  • The position of the YCL on the Zimbabwean situation and the actions that the YCL will take towards the Zimbabwean Elections.
  • The current uprisings on campuses and the actions the YCL will take in this regard, and our Free Education Campaign.
  • The decision of the YCL on whether the SACP should contest elections, and the position of the YCL with regards to state power.
  • The decision of the YCL on the Alliance.

We will also make announcements on the Jobs Campaign, and our attitude towards the State of the Nation and Budget speeches.

All media institutios are invited to this media briefing, which will be addressed by the National Secretary (Buti Manamela) and the National Chairperson (David Masondo).
