YCLSA disgusted by second rape of mentally ill youth
21 April 2012
The Young Communist League of South Africa [uFasimba] is utterly disgusted by the reports of a second rape of a mentally ill youth in Soweto. Police have arrested two women who raped a 17 year old mentally ill young boy. This comes just three days after we were exposed at the world stage as a sick society after the distribution of a video clip of seven men raping a mentally ill girl.
The fact that the case of the seven men who raped the girl in Soweto was postponed by the Roodeport magistrate courts makes matters worse and give rapist leeway to continue to engage in these gruesome acts. As the YCLSA we demand a speedily prosecution of these suspects.
We congratulate the South African Police Serives for arresting the suspects who are implicated in the rape of the young boy. We demand the arm of the law to deal harshly with these criminals and give a warning to those who still habour thoughts of committing these heinous crime.
This rising gruesome behavior that is on the increase poses questions to our society and as communities we have to start creating forums for speaking and curbing this behavior that is totally disheartening. This rape cases are signs that as communities we need to go back to basics, umuntu ngu muntu nga bantu.
