YCL redirects March
23 May 2012
The Young Communist League of South Africa [uFasimba] after much consideration has decided to redirect its march that was scheduled to take place tomorrow both at the Constitutional court and the Goodman Gallery. The march will now be directed to the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg CBD where the matter of the violation of the violation of the dignity of the President will be heard between the Goodman Gallery and the African National Congress [ANC].
Below are reasons why we are redirecting our march:
- The Goodman Gallery is temporarily closed due to fears for their own perceived security
- The "spear" is no longer on the premises of the Goodman Gallery in Parkwood
- The security Guard who assaulted the young man yesterday has been arrested
- We have been informed that the Constitutional Court has no one to receive our memorandum and this is just a blunt refusal to accept our memorandum.
As the YCLSA we also feel that it does not make sense to fragment the support for both the ANC and President Zuma; therefore all our members are urged to go to the South Gauteng High Court in support of the President and the African National Court.
